Match Report
Hazelwood School Boys-U10A vs  Tonbridge South East Festival
On: Sunday, 27 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

Last Sunday a group of Year 5 Boys braved the early morning cold to represent the school at the Tonbridge Rugby Festival. It is renowned for being one of the hardest tournaments in the calendar, Sunday proved no different. A quick start with 3 back to back games resulted in fine victories over Yardley Court, New Beacon and Northcote Lodge. The standard of rugby on display was outstanding from all involved with our boys defense especially sound and aggressive conceding only 1 try.

A lengthy break saw the worst of the weather with driving rain and sleet. A 1-2 loss to an excellent Shrewsbury house with the last play of the game and the same score defeat to King House. A well fought 1-0 win over St Thomas sandwiched in between.

A 4-2 win record with never more than a score in it either way is an excellent return from a tough day. Huge improvements with outstanding focus and determination, a tournament we can be very proud of.

Tries scored all across the team, aggressive defense and a real togetherness makes for an exciting season of tournaments ahead.

A big thank you to all the parents, grandparents, siblings and family friends that turned out to support the boys. With a special shout out for Miss Dancy who supported from start to finish.
